PAGE I4 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 24, I973 GISELE CHICOINE WEDS IN SCHREIBER - Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hoggart Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hoggart exchanged marr- iage vows September Ist in Holy Angels Church, Schreiber with Father Meyer officiating and Miss Brenda Lalonde organist accompanied by Mr. Giovanni Cebrario, soloist. * The bride is the former Gisele Chicoine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Chicoine, Schreiber. The groom, Morris Hoggart is. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hoggart, Clinton, Ont. The bride wore a long gown of whité crepe enhanced by lovely lace on hem, bodice and sle- eves. The flowered lace appliques on dress yoke were centered with delicate white pearls. Similar lace and pearls set the short veil. The long train attached from the shoulders was also enhanced with lace. She carried a bou- quet of orange roses. The Matron of Honour, Suzanne Chicoine wore a Givenchy design long dress of orange rust polyester crepe. The dress halter style was topped with a long sleeved jacket of matching colour. Same style dresses but of three different shades of green were worn by the brides maids. They were Mrs. Warren Morrill, Gaetane Chicoine, both --~ sisters of the bride and Shirley Evans, friend of the bride. Each of the four carried a long stem 'orange gladiolis. Dennis Harris, groom's brother-in-law, was best man. Rick Finch, Don Lockwood and Kenn- eth Borutski all friends of the groom, were ushers. Out of town guests were = Mrs. Blanche Dubeau, Sudbury, bride's grandmother; Mrs. W. Hoggart, groom's grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan 'Hoggart, Mrs. Donna Harris, sister of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Boughen, Mr. and Mrs. Don McLean, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hoggart with Patricia and Kevin, Mr. and Mrs. George Yeates, Mrs. Rick Finch, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Price, Clinton, Ont.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Harris, Bay- field; Mr. and Mrs. A. Gervais, Manitouwadge. The dinner was held in the Legion Hall, Terrace Bay, followed by a reception at the Moose Hall, after which the newlyweds left for a honeymoon to the east. The couple will res- ide in Vancouver. U.T.U. BANQUET W.E. (Bill) D'Arcy, president of local 571, U.T.U. was the M.C. at the banquet attended by I42 when the Union honoured 26 veterans of whom I4 were able to attend -- C.W. Boon, W.A. Col- pits, H. Duplassie, W.C. Lidkea, G.L. McCuaig, L.R. McCuaig, C.W. Miller, F.L. Moorey, W.A. Moorey, M. Murphy, W.M. Oakley and B.W. Para- dis. Grace was said by conductor W.G. (Huck) Gerow. The toast to the Queen was given by Gerry Thrower and Jack Handel proposed the toast to the pensioners with Lionel Moorey res-- ponding. 3 After formally welcoming the veterans and their wives (who were presented with corsages) Mr. D'Arcy paid tribute to their railroading lore, saying it was due to their tutelage that he and many other men present were looking for=- ward in time to their days of retirement.
