Everyone is aware of the pain and suffering caused by arthritis and rheumatism ... Let's support a very worthwhile project. Gunter on winning the Hiram Walker trophy this past weekend, also to P. Wellings as runner-up. M. Phillips won low net on the first nine holes with J. Hall taking the second nine. Just a reminder girls of our wind-up dinner at LeBlanc's Restaurant on October owed by a meeting and distribution at the Rattray residence. So come lets have a good turnout for both. I8th, foll- of prizes, on Ladies, LEGION OFFICIAL OPENING The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, Terrace Bay, held their official opening on Saturday afternoon, at 4 p.m. David Gunter, President of the Branch, wel- comed those who had come to participate in the ceremony. George Churney and Paul Coupal presented the Colours, with Alphonse Theriault acting as Parade Marshal. Reverend Peter McKague gave the Invocation. The ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by M. Gural, District Commander, assisted by President Gunter and Harry Gusul, Building Chairman. A cocktail hour preceded the excellent dinner prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary, con- vened by Mrs. Freda Boucher. Head Table guests were introduced by D. Gunter, and several called upon to say a few words. These included District Commander : Gural, Jack Stokes, M.L.A., Keith ONTARIO MEDAL FOR (GOOD CITIZENSHIP The newly established Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship is awarded to citizens of the province who have made outstanding contributions to the welfare of others, without any expectation of personal benefit. Anyone can nominate a person for the Ontario Medal. Recipients are selected by an independent Advisory Council of Ontario citizens whose honorary chairman is the Lieutenant-Governor of the Province.
