PAGE I2 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 3, I973 RECREATION NEWS ART COURSE: The IO-week art course as advertised in the paper last week has now started. The first session was held this past Monday, October Ist in the large meeting room of the Recreation Centre. Mrs. Helen Strickland is the instruc- tor for this course. Sessions will continue up to and including Monday December 3rd. This course is being held through the spon- sorship of Confederation College. CHESS: All those who registered for this programme will be asked to attend'a special meeting in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre, on Tuesday, October 9th, at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will also be open to anyone else who .either had second thoughts or who did not know about the programme. That's 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9th. - RED CROSS & ROYAL LIFE INSTRUCTOR COURSE: . The Recreation Office has received informa- tion on a special instructor course that will "be held in Thunder Bay over two weekends; Octo -ber I9th to 2Ist and October 26th to 28th. Course fee. is $30.00. Anyone interested should simply contact the Recreation Office for furth- er information and application forms. DUPLICATE BRIDGE: A number of local people have indicated an interest in forming a duplicate bridge club in Terrace Bay. As a result of these enquiries a special meeting will be held on Sunday, October TI4th, in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre, starting at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in the formation of a duplicate bridge club, be sure to attend this very important meeting. UPHOLSTERY COURSE TO BE HELD: It appears that an upholstery course will be sponsored by the Terrace Bay Recreation De- partment starting in the early part of January I974. All details concerning this course will be announced publicly around mid-November. Registration will probably be kept on a 'first come, first served' basis, so watch for further details on this course. WINTER EMPLOYMENT: Please refer to page I4 for an advertisement outlining winter positions in the Terrace Bay Recreation Department. Anyone interested in any of these positions must submit a letter of application by the date indicated. Though good at sports, he sometimes needs a push to get involved in activities other than school work. He likes camping, swimming and is a snowmobiling enthusiast. Living in a farm foster home, John is interested in the animals, especially the newborn calves. He sometimes needs prodding but usually is happy to help with chores, particularly at feeding times. He likes working on crafts, playing cards and watching television. : John needs a strong, interested father and a warm, relaxed mother in a stimulating home atmosphere.
