Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the Ex- pos were on the road again, this time in Man- hattan, to tackle the Mets (who are still very much in the race). Then they got a day off before winding up the schedule in Pittsburgh for another three-game series with the Pirates this weekend. Whether the Expos Jaks it in the National League playoffs depends entirely on the Expos themselves. Six of their last I2 games were against the Pirates, and that's the team they have to overtake to wind up a winner. The last time Expos manager Gene Mauch was involved in a pennant race was 1964. Actually it was more of a nightmare for Mauch and he wants to forget it as a bad experience. He was managing Philadelphia Phillies then. His Phils had a six-game lead atop the stand-' ings with just I2 games to play. The Phils lost IO straight and the pennant in what is considered to be one of the most stunning col- lapses in baseball history. : If Mauch's Expos didn't win the National League's east division this year, it's highly unlikely he'd lose his job over it. The activities are de- signed to develop participants' awareness and critical judgement of the television medium, It provides people with experience in using T.V. equipment as a teaching and evaluation tool and also provides experience in the pro- cesses of T.V. production through the use of studio and control roem equipment. This pro-= duction workshop is not designed to make par- ticipants into professional producers or per- formers. : Up to 50 adults could be accomodated at the workshop.
