RECREATION NEWS RECREATION DEPARTMENT FALL & WINTER PROGRAMS : At this particular time of year, many or- ganizations will be holding their organization -al meetings to prepare themselves for the up- coming season. The Recreation Office would like to remind the executives of all organiza- tions to book their meeting rooms at the Rec- reation Centre as far in advance as possible. Due to the physical changes that took place in the Centre this summer, there are presently only two meeting rooms available. The Recreation Office is presently working on a number of Fall programs and information will be publicized as soon as it is available. Some of the Fall programs are as follows: Yoga Course, to be operated in conjunction with Confederation College; Art Course, to be oper- ated in conjunction with Sports and Recreation Branch; Personal Development Course, to be operated in conjunction with Simpsons Sears or Eatons; Chess. ANYONE INTERESTED IN FORMING A CHESS CLUB? Since the Recreation Office has received egquires regarding the formation of a chess club, the Recreation Office will simply record the names of persons who would be interested in forming a club up until September 27th. If feed-back up to and including that date is favourable, a special organization meeting wi- 11 be held with those who register. This par- ticular program has various possibilities; for example, some people may be interested in for- ming a chess club, while others may be inter- ested in learning more about the game. If you are intérested in any way, be sure to call the Recreation Office and leave your name. FACILITY PREPARATION: During the next few weeks, the maintenance staff at the Recrea- tion Centre will be extremely busy attempting to prepare all facilities for winter use. In addition to preparing the various facilities (arena, curling rink, etc.), there are presen- tly sub-contractors in the building doing the heat conversion. While this is being done, various parts of the building will be in a cluttered state. We hope to have everything back to normal once the contractors are fin- ished their work. cont'd page I5..
