AUGUST 9, I973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE II SCHREIBER OLYMPIC CLUB The Schreiber Olympic Track and Field Club vas well represented by Lonnie Connelly and \rlene Krause at the recent Manitoba Provincial "hampionships in Winnipeg. The meet was held in the Pan American Games Stadium at the Univ- srsity of Manitoba. Arlene places first in the 80 metre hurdles in I4.3 seconds; second in the long jump with I4 ft. 2% in. and second in the high jump with 4 ft. 8 in. Arlenes performance in the high jump was also a personal best. Lonnie placed third in the I500 m. steeple- chase in 4 min. 32 seconds; third in the 3000 metres in 9 min. 3 seconds and seventh in the I500 metres in 4 mins. 7 seconds. All three times represent personal best performances for Lonnie. Lonnie will be attending the University of Windsor this fall and will no doubt be a valu- able asset to the varsity track team. The next meet will be held in Thunder Bay at Churchill High School on Wednesday, August Ist, I973. SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Mrs. Joe Lafoley and daughter Arlene of Ottawa are visiting Mrs. Lafoley's sister Mrs. Norma Fummerton in Schreiber. Mr. and Mrs. N.J. Jolicoeur and daughter Tracy of Thunder Bay were in Schreiber on the weekend visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Orchard and family of Thun- der Bay are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Huard and visiting other relations in Schreiber Mr. and Mrs. David Nesbitt, Mrs. Lenard Huard and her son Corie are attending a Nesbitt family reunion in Carlton Place. Miss Diane Verdone and Mrs. Maureen Greene and her twin daughters Dawn Marie and Debbie of Ottawa are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Verdone. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Molinski of Vancouver are the guests of Mrs. Mary Sparks - Mrs. Mol- inski's sister. Glen and Curtis Cataford of Sarnia are visi- ting their grandmother Mrs. George Cataford and Mr. and Mrs. Gino Caccamo (aunt and uncle). Mrs. Cataford will return with the boys to attend the wedding of their sister Louise and Daniel Barrons in Sarnia on August 3Ist. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Sparkes of Halifax and family visites Ken's parents Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Sparkes last week. Mr. and Mrs. N.A. McCuaig and Miss Myrna McCuaig attended the wedding of Lloyd McCuaig and Susan Gemmell in Thunder Bay on July 28th. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Verdone enjoyed an un- expected visit with Ramon Santos of Santiago, Chili, S.A., who is hitchiking across Canada Mr. Santos who is well educated is interested in finding a particular place in Canada which he feels is a big, beautiful, free country. Mr. and Mrs. Norman McCuaig returned with their daughter Jeanne (Mrs. Dave McKay) to Sioux Lookout for a visit.
