The minutes of the Board of Health Meeting held on June 22nd, in Thunder Bay were read and filed. The Board could not, at this time, make a firm commitment to utilize space in the proposed new medical centre. Accounts passed for payment were - Water Accounts $I59.25 and general accounts of $4706.25. Under unfinished business, Fire Chief Peter Doig attended the first regular meeting of the Schreiber Municipal Council to report tests taken at various fire hydrants in the town. Mrs. D. Rummery presented the Hospital Board report. Council was pleased to learn that the necessary requirements have already been fulfilled and Dr. M. Spacik has been granted hospital privileges as soon as he sets up practice in Schreiber. Fire Chief, Doig also advised Council that the next Mutual Aid meeting for fire depart- ments will be held here in the fall. Council agreed to co-operate with the local fire de- partment to make this meeting a successful one] The printing of tax bills has been unavoid- ably delayed. It was moved by Councillors Caccamo and Fischer that" By-Law No. 555 Sec. 2 be amended to read as follows: "The Taxes shall become due and payable on the I5th day of August,I973 Reeve McParland was authorized to proclaim Mon- day,Bug. 6th a Civic Holiday within the town. School Board Meeting - continued .....c.... are interested in attending the Annual Conven- tion of the Northern Ontario Public and Secon- dary School Trustees Association at Timmins Ontario, on September 27-29, if there is a car going. Trustee J. Warwick would also like to attend. The Board supported the motions of The Lan- ark County Board of Education and Perth County Board of Education regarding the exemption from Ontario Retail Sales Tax for all School Boards in Ontario, and that the Minister and the appropriate school trustee organizations be advised accordingly. Under new business, Trustee G. Fairservice questioned the practices followed for inter- views for new staff. It was pointed out it is essential that prospective new staff be inter- viewed. The matter will be placed on the ag- enda of a future meeting when the incoming Director of Education and Principals are pres- ent. A Memorandum of Agreement made on the I7th day of July, 19273, between E.J. Morgan Direc- tor of Education and E. Lyons, Secretary-Treas -urer of The Corporation of the Improvement District of Manitouwadge, regarding seven houses in Manitouwadge was placed before the trustees. A motion by Trustees A.
