TERRACE BAY SWIM TEAM SWIM-A-THON JULY 25TH: Due to the increased competitive schedule for the Terrace Bay swim team this summer, the swim team will be sponsoring a Swim-a-thon at the Terrace Bay pool this Wednesday, July 25th. Swimmers will be contacting local peo- ple for support and it is hoped that local citizens will assist the swim team by sponsor- ing them in the Swim-a-thon. Swimmers are to check at the pool for specific times of the Swim-a-thon. In the event of rain, the Swim- a-thon will be held Friday, July 27th. TERRACE BAY LOCAL SWIM MEET: The Terrace Bay local swim meet will be held this Saturday, July 28th, commencing at I0 a.m. This will be the second swim meet of the year for our local swimmers as they com- peted in the Thunder Bay-Terrace Bay meet last Saturday, July 2Ist. Local people are encouraged to come out and watch our swimmers in action this Saturday. JULY SWIMMING SESSION - TEST DATES: The following schedule will indicate the specific dates as to pre-tests and tests for swimmers enrolled in the July session: Tadpoles, Minnows, Pre-Beginners-tested Friday July 27th. Beginners, Survival Swimming - pre-tested Friday, July 27th. Beginners, Survival Swimming - tested Monday, July 30th. 'Juniors, Intermediates, Senior - pre-tested Monday, July 30th. Juniors, Intermediates, Tuesday, July 3Ist. Anyone taking Royal Life sessions for July will be contacted as to specific dates and time for their pre-tests and testing. Seniors - tested POOR CONDUCT OF LOCAL PEOPLE AT SWIM POOL: Recently the conduct of local people making use of the Terrace Bay swim pool has been de- plorable. Some local swimmers are guilty of swearing at the swim pool staff, fighting in the washrooms, not obeying pool staff and plugging up toilets intentionally. . All swimmers, taking lessons at the pool have been informed of future action that will be taken with swimmers misusing our facility. Effective July 23rd, any incidents of horse- play, swearing, etc., will be reported to the respective parents and a decision made accord- ingly. Many swimmers are in fact making use of our pool properly by following rules that are laid down by provincial legislation as well as the local department. This is appreciated. AUGUST SWIM LESSONS: Anyone interested in taking August swim lessons can pick up their registration forms at the swim pool. MEN'S BASKETBALL? Every Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. for men I8 years of age and over. LACROSSE: This is the last week for registration. League play will begin August 6th. MINOR BALL: Playoffs will start next week.
