KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TOURNAMENT On July 2nd, the Annual Knights of Columbus Tournament kicked off at I0:00 a.m. There was a very good turnout of golfers and all were in good spirits at least at the beginning. There was one golfer in particular who was especially in good spirits. He is relatively new to the golf links but during this season the golf bug hit him. Dressed in blue he proceeded to shoot a net 70 to become the I973 Knights of Columbus trophy winner. Cosimo Pellegrino is the name and about a week later he got himself a hole in one on the I95 yard par 3, 8th hole. There were some other good scores and winn- ers also. J. Dupas was a very close runner-up to Cosimo with a net 7I. Low gross was Ken Hanley 75 and runner-up was Trent Desaulniers with a 79. WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE - By Ray Shank * 'Tis the season for setting world records again, it seems, and two new marks were set in the last couple of weeks. In Salem, Ore., I5-year-old Rokert Hehlen broke the world record for pogo stick jumping. Young Bob apparently hopped 14,675 times - and there were counters and witnesses there to watch him. It took him two hours and I9 min- utes. The Guinness Book of World Fecords lists the old record as II,052 jumps, set by I2-year-old Stephen Newman of Great Haywood, England, in June of I971I. In Rio de Janeiro, meanwhile, Adilson Rib- eiro Troca also is claiming a world record, but he'd rather someone else owned it. He says that during the last three years he has been held up 42 times by gunmen while driving to the bank with his company's earnings.
