HOSPITAL BOARD ELECTS OFFICERS Immediately -after the Annual Meeting of The McCausland Hospital, the I973-74 Board of - Governors held a special meeting to elect its officers for the coming year. Nominations from the floor were accepted by the Secretary of the Board and voting was held by secret ballot where there was more than one person nominated for an office. The results of the election: President-Rena McAdam; Vice-President-Don Beno; Treasurer- Barry Stephens. TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT A total of twenty-three occurrences were investigated by the Terrace Bay Police Depart- ment this past week. 1 On Sunday, May I3th as a result of a com- plaint investigations were conducted which re- sulted in a local resident being charged with indecent assault on a female. On Monday, May I4th following a complaint from a local motel a Victoria, B.C. woman was charged with theft. On Saturday, May I2th, an accident occurred on Elizabeth where a street light was knocked down and extensive damage sustained by the motor vehicles. The driver of which was charged with careless driving. Eight motor vehicles were checked and warnings given for minor infractions. COURT NEWS: Appearing before Judge Cunningham at Pro- vincial Court, Terrace Bay, last Tuesday were Wayne Cabana, I8 years and Katherine Fredrics, I8 years, both were charged with break, enter and theft at Moon's Restaurant and pleaded guilty to this offence. Cabana admitted to the court that during the past two years he had had two previous convictions and on one occasion had served a one month jail term. continued page 9 ....
