LADIES KEEP-FIT PROGRAMME: Many of the ladies who are taking the keep- fit classes seem to be enjoying the programme very much. It was encouraging to see such good response to this programme and with the work put into the programme by Sue Bulawka it now appears the programme will repeat itself every spring. Registrants are reminded that their regis- tration fee must be paid by this Friday, May 25th. Fees are $2.50 for recreation members and $5.00 for non-recreation members. Sessions continue every Tuesday evening at the Terrace Bay campus auditorium. COMING EVENTS: Wednesday, May 23 - Minor Hockey Banquet - Moose Hall - 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 28 =~ Public Meeting - Canada Day programme in large meeting room Recreation Centre at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7 - Terrace Bay Horticultural Society bedding plant sale from 4:00 p.m. through evening. HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING The McCausland Hospital Board of Governors held a regular meeting on May I7, I973 with all members present. V. Mazzone, Administra- tor presented a report on the District Hospit- al Council Meeting held in Thunder Bay on May 3rd and 4th, I973. The theme of this meet -ing was "Role of Para-Medicals in the Deliv- ery of Health Care in Northwestern Ontario". In keeping with this theme, the second day of the conference was held at Confederation Coll- ege where mini-papers were given on the sub- jects of Ambulance Services, Pastoral Services Nurse Practitioner Services and Psychiatric Services. A letter was read from the Ministry of Health confirming the fact that they will pay two-thirds (2/3) of the capital costs of the renovation of the present heating system in order to tie in with the heating plant at Birchwood Terrace Home for the Aged. Dr. Jane Pickersgill, Medical Officer of Health and the senior staff of The Thunder Bay District Health Unit will be visiting Terrace Bay - Schreiber area on May 22, I973 and will meet with members of the Board, Administrator and Director of Nursing in the afternoon to discuss matters of mutual interest. Rena McAdam, President of the Board, appointed members for the Standing Committees of Development, Finance and Public Relations.
