MAY 2, I973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I3 KINSMEN SPAGHETTI DINNER The highlight of the spaghetti dinner, put on by the Schreiber Kinsmen, to aid the North Stars hockey team, was undoubtedly, the appear -ance of George Korman, Manager of the Bank of Montreal, as a genial chef, ladling out generous portions to the many kids attending, evoking the envy of the older patrons with smaller appetites. Working at the affair also were Kinsmen Bruce Gordon, Tom Quinton, Alex Gordon, Ray Cook, Joe Figliomeni, Brian Birch, Philip Birch, Fred Harness, Ian Macadam, Pat Halonen, Don Anderson, Mike Cosgrove and Bob Turner. The meatballs were made in advance by - Mary Figliomeni, Jackie Turner, Linda Figliomeni, Ruth Ann Birch, Edythe Cosgrove, Brenda Har- per, Diane Figliomeni and Betty Ann Klassen. K.P. at the dinner - Phillip Birch, Walter Klassen and Mike Cosgrove OFFICIAL VISIT PAID TO REBEKAH LODGE Mrs. June Claydon, D.D.P. of District 4I, paid her official visit to Schreiber Ruby Reb- ekah Lodge at their April 25th meeting, form- ally welcomed by Mrs. Helen Wallace, P.D.D.P. Also welcomed were Mrs. Mary Nazvesky, P.D.D.P. of District 4I and Mrs. Winnie Clemens, Assem- bly Chaplain. Mrs. Lil Harris, V.G. reported on cards and flowers sent to sick members and informed mem- bers of the memorial service being held for the late John Stitt in St. John's Anglican Church. D.P.T. members were reminded for the meet- ing being held in St. John's Church hall on May 6th. Mrs. Wallace reported on the meeting with the town council, she had attended as Lodge representative, concerning the proposed new medical centre. Reservations for members attending the Rebekah Assembly in Toronto in June were ord- ered. Members of the I.0.0.F. #402 and Rebekahs will meet with Mr. Howard Pettit, D.D.G.M. and other delegates from Thunder Bay at a joint occasion in the town hall on May I5th. A donation was made to the Schreiber Branch Cancer Fund. Mrs. Florence Fischer reported on last month's fund raising project. A dinner was planned for May 9th in the May ~-fair Hotel, honouring Mrs. Mavis Slater, Rebekah Assembly president. Those wishing to attend the dinner at 5:30 p.m. should contact the secretary or Mrs. Alice Sparkes. Mrs. Claydon presented her annual report and thanked Rebekah Lodge for her corsage and many kindnesses extended during her visits. Mrs. Nazvesky brought greetings from Topaz Lodge, Thunder Bay. It was announced Mrs. Elsie Mork of Thunder Bay Greenstone Lodge #86, has been recommended for the office of District Deputy President, District #4I for the I973-74 term. Mrs. Glorie Miller, N.G. and Mrs. Lil Harris, V.G. presided for the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Weaver, with daughters Wendy and Billie and Mr. and Mrs. Jody Davis were in Toronto over the weekend to attend the 25th wedding anniversary party of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Foss - nee 'Dodie' Harper. Pat and Stacy Fenton of Weston are visiting with Mrs. Marg Simmer in Terrace Bay.
