EVENING PRAYER - 7:00 P.M, SCHREIBER RINK WINS SCHOOL BONSPIEL The North Shore Elementary Schools bonspiel was held on Manitouwadge ice this year, with two rinks entered from each of the four parti- cipating schools. Rinks were entered from Marathon, Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Manitouwadge, for this four ender spiel. Adult spectators were amazed at the skill of the young curlers, some of whom had curling knowledge and skill well beyond their years. Excitement was high as one rink from each of the schools made the semi-finals, and the keen competition prevailed throughout the spiel Schreiber and Manitouwadge were in opposi- tion in the final. Manitouwadge skip, Ken Fairservice managed to pick up enough points to make it anyones game in the third, but the Schreiber team' curled so many good rocks in the final end that skip, Danny Gellert did not need to clinch anything with the hammer. The runner-up rink was Ken Fairservice, skip Anne Nickerson, vice; David Gray, second, and Shelly Weeks, lead. The winners from Schreiber pictured in the next column were Danny Gellert, skip, Betty- Anne McKenna, vice, Don Courtney, second and Barbara Glad, lead. A chiropractor is a man who gets paid for do- ing what another man gets slapped for. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Gerow of Thunder Bay and Mr. and Mrs. Mac Hubelit of Rossport call- ed at the Petrushak's home Sunday to bid them farewell, and presented them with a lovely but humourous gift for their farm home. Mary and Nick Hubelit prepared a special Chinese supper in their home for the families of Rossport and Terrace Bay who came to bid farewell to Steve and Pearl Petrushak going to Sheho Sask and Bill and Josephine Hubelit leaving for Sault Ste. Marie.
