FEBRUARY 2I, 1973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE - By Ray Shank After experiencing a green Christmas| a green New Year and really, a green winter in Windsor, all of a sudden we get a deluge of snow. And here.I am all set to slip on the running shoes and start training for the softball season. One thing about it, though, the snow comes down here on day and it's usually gone the next. But the way it's been coming down today (Eeb. 15), it just might stay for as long as a week this time. It snowed yesterday, but it was 39 above zero and there was no way it was going to stay. It's a little cooler today. But I don't. feel so bad. One thing 1.'dc, faithfully, every day at work is check the Canad- ian Press 'Observed Temperatures' col- umn. Checked it this morning and it read: Thunder Bay - high II, Low ~-24; White River - high 2, low -28. The temperatures in Thunder Bay and White River usually give me an idea of what the North Shore of Lake Superior has "suffered" through. High in Windsor yesterday was 39 and low was 32. Today it's fairly cold - 24 above, . Sorry to be rubbing it in like that '! Mentioned some time ago about the great entertainment they get at the Elmwood Casino here in Windsor. Among the performers who have been here sin- ce I left the north country to work in the 'banana belt' are Al Martino, Tony Bennett, The Supremes, The Golddiggers Lena Horne and Lainie Kazan. If you're a Glen Campbell fan, he'll be appearing at the Elmwood here March 22-3I - in case you're in this part of the prov- ince..... or : One more thing about the weather around here, before I forget. While I keep boasting about the lack of snow in this area, I should report on the grim flooding situation that is expect- ed to face us in the spring. There's already been one major flood in the immediate area and it's supposed to be even worse when April moves around. But I can't understand it. How can it flood if there's no snow 222? Enjoy the benefits of faster starts, better ignition and improved performance. Use the same plugs all season! STOPS ENGINE OVERHEATING REDEX is synthetic lubricant that will not burn away so it provides more effective lubrication in the cylinder area, particularly the extreme heat areas surrounding the exhaust port and rings. REDE X added to your oils ends hotspots and costly engine seizures due to lubricant breakdown. INCREASED PERFORMANCE Regular oil tends to burn off as engine temperature increases resulting in poor ring seal, compression loss and power drop- off. This blow-by can be 'prevented by the synthetic lub- ricant in REDE X which stays within the cylinder area to aid compression and allow higher R.P.M. and a boost in power.
