CELEBRATES 20th ANNIVERSARY The regular monthly meeting of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Women's League was held on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 8:15 in the Church Hall. The rosary was recited in the church prior to the meeting. Mrs. G. Ramsey, president, opened the meeting with a few words of welcome and the League Prayers. Mrs. F. Sechesky read a passage from the Jerusalem Bible and Mrs. P, Malashewski read-the minutes of the last meeting. Mrs. F. Helmink gave the treasur- er's report and the various committee chairmen gave their reports. Mrs. L. McBridge, Organization reported that she had ninety-eight paid up members and anyone could still join. Mrs. M. Chepelsky, Social Economic and Civic Life, reported that Mrs. F. Cruikshank laid a wreath at the cenotaph on Nov. 11 and she reminded members to attend the Hospital Auxiliary meeting Noy. 20. Mrs. J. Kennedy, Christian Family Life reported that the missionary which the League is sponsoring is Brother S. Maria Anthony of Ceylon who began his studies in November 1971. Mrs. A. Regis, Church Life, read a letter from Father Giroux of Red Lake, thanking the members for the many boxes of clothing, and a poem entitled, "Slow Me Down Lord". Mrs. R. IRENE SPICER HONOURED ON RETIREMENT Miss Irene Spicer was honoured at a dinner party arranged in the Restaurant LeBlanc by the Local Hydro Commission to mark her retirement after 27 years service with the Schreiber board. Caccamo presented a wedgewood brooch and framed tribute in appreciation of her years of work, In addition to the local board and staff, and imm- ediate relations of Miss Spicers, were Jack Hamer, Area Manager; Jim Tarling, Consumer Service Supt.; Harry Story and Eric Coggin, Ontario Hydro Account- ing Dept., of Thunder Bay.
