Mrs. Margaret McKague and President Mrs. Gertru- de Saughton received at the door. Mrs. Lil Harris was in charge of the apron table. Adding to the festive air, some of the ladies wore their red fashioned long gowns. Mrs. Hilda Hiebert was in charge of the knitted goods table, assisted by Mrs. Rose Garriock, Mrs. Sadie Benko, and Miss Karen Hiebert. Mrs. Helen Brooks took charge of the doll table and the cuddly stuffed toys, assisted by Mrs. June Schritt. The Touch n Take table for little people was taken care of by Mrs. Mary Vanderkam and daughter Carolyn and no doubt some mother will, this Christmas, receive a pair of earrings or a pin, and Father a pair of cuff links purchased from this very table, at a price suited to little purses. Mrs, Jean Roberts, in charge of the Fish Pond, fascinated the little fishermen with her running com- mentary as they paid their dime and found a fish on the end of the line. Diane Jones, Carla Crockford served Kool Aid . The Bake table, laden with everything from fancy cakes, rolls, candies, breads, muffins, squares to Wine Jelly and spiced beets, was presided over by Mrs. Connie Cvitkovich, Mrs, Gail Moore and Mrs. Myrtle McBride. The Cookie Tree, featuring decorated cookies for the small folk, was looked after by Mrs. Mabel Hickerson and Mrs. Marilyn Saranpaa. The "Piece de Resistance" was those fantastic, fabulous and (fattening) desserts served by members of the Novelty Group under the direction of Mrs. Alice Farrow, a variety of desserts were on display for miladys' choosing, to be consumed at individual tables, with tea or coffee. Small talbes were taste- fully decorated in a Christmas theme. Members in charge of the desserts and tea and coffee were Mesdames A. Farrow, E. Houghton, V. Kennedy, M. Dorland, M. Lundberg, M. vanEeden, L. Hopper M. Husband, D. Weaver, Anne Pelto, Norma Crock- ford. Joanne McBride provided Baby sitting service. PROXY SHOWER FOR PAT DODGE A proxy shower was held for Bride-elect Pat Dodge of Toronto, at the home of Marge Lundberg with Marg Duriez as co-hostess. Pat's Mother, Mrs. G. Dodge, accepted the love- ly array of gifts on Pats' behalf. Lunch was served by the hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Dodge have left for Toronto to attend the wedding, which will take place on December 2. TERRACE BAY ELECTION CANDIDATES George Ramsay: A resident of Terrace Bay since 1948, is married with 5 children. Active in the comunity for a num- ber of years as a member of local 665, Pulp Sulphite Union, served on various committes and is a past president; three years on the Recreation committee, one year as chairman; Legion member, served as Ist Vice president. Presently he is on the Schreiber Terrace Bay Separate School Baord as Vice Chairman, and also on the Northwestern Ontario Catholic Trustees Association as first Vice President. Mr. Ramsay would like to continue to serve the Seperate School supporters of Terrace Bay. Frank Sechesky: Frank Sechesky, 48 married with two boys, has lived in Terrace Bay 26 years. As treasurer of Terrace Bay Minor Hockey 19 years; Treasurer of North Shore Minor Hockey Association; Secretary of Loyal Order of Moose; served 2 years as trustee on former St. Martin's Separate School Board = 1 year as Secretary Treasurer, - 2 years as Trustee on Sch- reiber-Terrace Bay separate School Board, feels that sufficient experience has been gained to represent the taxpayers on the Lake Superior Division Board of Education. Very concerned about spiralled rise in cost of education and needs for better control of our tax dollars, without affecting the standards of edu- cation to a lesser degree.
