TERRACE BAY NEWS Jf Vol. 15 No. 45 Lb November 15, 1972 15¢ Per Copy WINTER CARNIVAL '73 UNDERWAY At a meeting held at the Recreation Centre Sunday evening, chaired by Don Laporte, Cy Brassard agreed to stand as Carnival '73 Chairman, Mrs. Diane Long was named as Secretary. Tom Pollard has accepted the post as treasurer. Marge Lundberg was nominated as Publicity Convener. Others attending the meeting were Mrs. Marilyn Moher, Mrs. Ethel Boyd, representing the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, and Mrs. Ollie Chapman, representing the Recreation Commit- tee and as President of the Ladies' Curling Club. Jerry Dupas, Recreation Director, will act in an advisory capacity, and Don Laporte pledged his full support ,as past chairman of the very successful '72 Carnival, : The first general meeting of the Carnival '73 will be held Sunday evening, November |9, at 7 p.m. This meeting is open to the public and it is hoped that as many organizations as possible will send a representa- tive, as well as individuals who are interested in making Carnival '73 bigger and better than ever. Let's get behind Cy Brassard and give him and his committee our ideas and full support. As-at 5 o'clock on November 13th, nominees are as follows: Municipal Councillors - Joe Adamo, John Polachuk, Peggy Helmink, Cy Brassard, W. Megraw, J. Hale, P. Jones, L. McBride. Reeve - Joe Kennedy, Roy Bray, Willie Adamo. Roman Catholic Separate School Board - George Dashkewytch, George Ramsay, Rita McBride, Marion B. Bouchard, Melvin J. Nicol. Public School Electors = Harry Coe Separate School Supporters = Al Allen, Frank Sechesky, Joseph N., Marcella. Candidates have until 5 o'clock on Tuesday, November 14th to withdraw their names.
