SUBSCRIPTION RATE - $4.00 per year (local) $5.00 per year (out of town) PUBLISHERS FRANCIS AND DEBORAH HELMINK Second Class Mail Registration Number 0867 NOTICE The Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club will hold their Registration on November 4th, from 7 = 9 p.m. in the Small Meeting Room of the Recreation Centre. Registration forms are available at that time. Club Professional, Elizabeth Singleton, will be in attendance. RECREATION NEWS Arena and Curling Ice Ice will not be available for use in both the Arena and Curling Rink until Monday, November 6th. Arena schedules will be posted in the Arena and schools outlining activities until November 8th. Be sure to refer to the Arena schedule for specific times on Public Skating sessions, Figure Skating sessions and Open Hockey sessions. Men's Fitness Programme A total of 7 men registered for Men's Fitness pro- gramme. A special meeting will be held with the re- gistrants to determine if they would like to start a programme and if so, work out the details for same. Junior Badminton A total of 37 students registered for this programme and all those who registered will be informed by the Recreation Office as to when the programme will start. Remember that the registration fee is .50¢ per student, payable at the first sessions. All students should make an attempt to bring either their own racquet or borrow one from a friend. Girls Ringette Once the arena is open to the public, open Ring- ette sessions will be scheduled for the girls who re- gistered for this programme. A total of 46 girls re- gistered and it is hoped that a regular league sche- dule will be drawn up for the girls and that exhibi- tion games will be arranged throughout the season. Volunteer Help Required ' In order to conduct both the Girls Ringette and Junior Badminton programmes, the Recreation Office would like to receive names of students or adults who would be interested in assisting either the Badminton or Ringette programme. If you require more infor- mation about the programmes, call the Recreation Office at 3542, Coming Events Saturday, November 11th = Armistice Day Tea and Bazaar, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion = St. Martin's Church basement. Saturday, November 25th = Christmas Tea and Bazaar - sponsored by Ladies Auxiliary of the Com- munity Church, Community Church basement. REMEMBRANCE DAY TEA & BAZAAR The Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion meeting chaired by President J. Gunter, was held Sunday, October 29th. Two new members, Julie | Rattray and Lorraine Desaulniers were installed. Also welcomed was a new member transferred from the Manitouwadge Branch, Mrs. Mary lhnatko. The various committees each gave their reports. Plans for the Remembrance Day Tea and Bazaar are well under way. The Tea will be held in St. Martin's Church on Saturday, November 11th. Con- venors are: Bake table = Jean Megraw; Fish Pond - Dot Coupal; Tea tables = Dot Koski and Audrey | Smith; Bazaar table - Pam Jones. Everyone is reminded to attend the Remembrance Day Parade on November 11th. Poppy Sale con- | venors are: Dolly Sitko and Jean Fischer. Convenor | for the November 11th supper is Marion Burns. The next meeting at the end of November will have nominations and election of officers for 1973. | Convenors for a money tree draw in December are | Yvonne Rochon and Lillian Belliveau. A home Bingo will be held with the proceeds to go to the Boy Scouts. This will be convened by Pam Jones and Dot Coupal . Two representatives from the Auxiliary, Ethel Boyd and Stella Gusul will attend the meeting for the Winter Carnival of 1973. The Christmas party will be held at the December meeting. Pot of Gold was won by Mary Milks.
