They resolved that the Ministry of Treasury Economic and Inter-Governmental Affairs provide incentive grants to repair existing arenas or build new ones with the view of providing economic stimulation in the winter months similar to the Ont- ario Government Day Care Building programme where 100% of capital expenditures were met in certain conditions. It was Councils view that all arenas in the province would need re-building if this resolution was to pass and will reply to Whitby Council disagreeing to this. St. Martin's School has again decided to under- take the UNICEF canvass this year. A letter from Principal Mike Anderson was received stating this and clarifying with Council that Halloween will be held on Tuesday, October 31st. The Recreation Committee notified Council of their motion of September 28th to have Roy Corn- field placed on permanent employment at the Rec- reation Centre. Council agreed with this and the standard 5% increase in wage was granted.
