PLANS CHRISTMAS BAZAAR The United Church Women, at their October mee- ting, made a donation to the Sunday School for supplies. Mrs. Beth Macadam reported on the most success- ful Fall Fair. Orders were taken by Mrs. Norma Fummerton for the Church calendars. A Hallowe'en coffee party and bake sale was planned for October 28th, to be held in the Church Hall. Mrs. Della Moore reported sending 63 cards for various occasions. Plans for the December 9th Christmas Bazaar Tea were discussed with the hope that donations for this would soon start coming in. Mrs. Macadam and Mrs. George Gordon will pre- pare for the Communion service on October 8th dnd also arrange suitable Thanksgiving decorations. Mrs. Winnie Clemens read the Scripture passage and Mrs. Lilyan Christie offered the prayer. Mrs. June Dukes presided for the meeting with Mrs. Bern Whent reading minutes and Mrs. Margaret Spil- lane presenting the financial report. MRS . RODDIS HONOURED AT FAREWELL PARTY Mrs. D .Q. Hamilton was hostess for a farewell party honoring Mrs. Walter (Jackie) Roddis who is leaving for a new home in Chapleau where her hus- band has been transferred by C .P.R. and promoted to Assistant Signal Superviser. On behalf of the twenty-eight friends present, Mrs. J.D. Bryson presented Mrs. Roddis with an oil pain- ting of a local scene, painted by Mrs. Alice Sparkes, along with a casserole and tiered cake dish in hammer- ed aluminum.
