AGUASABON GOLF CLUB WIND-UP DANCE Members of the Aguasabon Golf Club made a very poor showing at the Annual wind-up on Satur- day night at the Curling Club Lounge. Only 18 people attended what turned out to be a very good party. ~ Dancing to the music of George Churney, Bill Megraw and Len Pineault was enjoyable and the buffet lunch served was delicious. Dick Rattray presented trophies to the few winners who took time to attend and claim their prizes. Pictures in next weeks News. NOTICE Schreiber Group Committee Boy Scouts of Canada invite parents of Cubs and Scouts along with spons- oring Kinsmen Club Members and other interested adults to attend an important meeting at the Schreiber Public School Library, Sunday evening, October Ist, 7:30 o'clock. The need for assistant Cub Leaders, Scout Leaders Assistant Scout Leaders and Group Committee Mem- bers is urgent. Your attendance is necessary if we are to con- tinue the Scouting Movement in Schreiber. CUB NEWS The Cub Pack along with the Group Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank the people who purchased apples for their support. Any householder who was missed or not at home when the Cubs canvassed the town can have a box of "Macs" delivered by calling "3537" and leaving his name and house number. On Saturday, September 23rd, the Terrace Bay Group hosted the Lake Superior Area Cuboree with packs from Caramat, Manitouwadge, Nipigon, Schreiber and Terrace Bay participating. Ninety- one cubs took part in a program which included relay races for the "Commissioner's Bone Trophy" and chariot races. The winners of the relay were Nipigon and Manitouwadge with Nipigon claiming the "Bone Trophy" in a very close relay race final. In the chariot race finals the order of finish was Terrace Bay, Nipigon and Manitouwadge. These three teams had survived the preliminary heats. At the completion of the days program the boys were served a hot dog and pop lunch by some of the mothers of the local Cubs. Coffee was also provid- ed for the leaders and car drivers. After lunch the packs headed for home looking forward too next years Cuboree, which it is hoped, all Lake Superior Area Packs will attend. : A special thanks to the mothers who prepared and served the lunch. They did a very good job with facilities that weren't the best. TURKEY SHOOT Lake Superior High School Hockey Team is sponsoring a Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot - Friday October 6 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Terrace Bay Arena.
