EVENING COURSE PRINCIPALS APPOINTED AT BOARD MEETING WANTED | Old Television Sets THE LAKE SUPERIOR HIGH SCHOOL is anxious to collect television receivers which are being discarded. We can use sets whether or not they are in working order. We hope to be able to collect enough second hand receivers to set up a few for use in connection with our closed circuit system. Anyone willing to donate a set is asked to call 825-3271 We will pick up E.E. Forgues, Principal . GOLF NEWS Sunday morning at 10 a.m. saw a disappointing group tee off for the Moore Trophy. This was a mixed 2 ball tournament which saw Olga Adamo and David Adamo emerge as winners. Runners-up were Jeannette Gunter and Bob Campbell. Low net winners in the first nine were Joyce Mercier and Mark Dashkewytch while Jan Hall and Jim Corrigan were winners in the second nine. This marks the end of the golf tournaments for another season. STORK CLUB Born to Gastone and Linda Ruel (Bennitz) of Monteal a son Dereck on August 25th. The Lake Superior Board of Education held its meeting at Marathon High School on September 13, with R.P. Ungar, Chairman, E.J. Morgan, Director of Education, C. van Eeden, Business Director, and all but two trustees present. The minutes of Board meeting No. 10/72 held August 23rd, 1972 were adopted as written. The Disbursements for the month of August 1972, in the amount of $112,293.85, were approved for payment. A Statement of Revenue will be issued quarterly. The resignation of Mrs. Janice Wilson from the staff of the Schreiber Public School, effective December 31, 1972 was accepted with regret. In accordance with Ontario Regulation 191, Section 11, Subsection 6, Mr. R.O. Bailey, Manitouwadge High School and Mr. A.J. Korkola, Marathon High School, being qualified for the position were appointed Principals of the Evening Courses of Study in the schools, effective for the School Year 1972-73. The rate per hour to be paid to the Night School Principals was established at $13.10. Representatives of the Board will attend the Annual Convention September 28-30 of the N,O.P, S.5.T.A., North Bay, and a report on the conven- tion will be made by the Trustee attending at the next Board meeting. The Capital Expenditure Forecast was approved with Manitouwadge Members stipulating that the items to be added will be within the existing pro- jects. In accordance with Ontario Regulation 191, Section 41, Subsection 16, the Minister be request- ed fo grant to the Board exemption from the teach- ing of Religious Education in the following schools: Manitouwadge Public School, Schreiber Public School and Terrace Bay Public School .
