Harvey McCanna is in Port Alberni, BL.to attend the funeral of his brother-in-law, Dale Vincent. : Attending the wedding of Sean Paradis and Ann Syrotiuk, in Thunder Bay last week were the follow ing relations of the groom - Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Paradis (his parents), Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wilson, with son Jimmy, Mrs. Charlie Pearson and friends Mr. and Mrs. David McLellan, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kragero. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Power, with Jim, Michael and Sheila and Mr. and Mrs. John Power with Anita attended the wedding of their niece Roseanne Power to Warner Peever in Iroquois Falls. Mr. and Mrs. John Power and Jim Power have gone on east fo visit relatives in Ottawa, Renfrew, Cornwall and other centres. Mr. and Mrs. Alex McCuaig and their family of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Chal McCuaig of Atiko- kan visited Mr. and Mrs. Lester McCuaig last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hill and son Jamie of Toronto are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Gerg. McLellan = their daughter, Rosanne. Mrs. Eva Quinton of Walters Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Craig and family of Pickering have been with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Quinton for the past two weeks. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Campbell are Mr. and Mrs. John Lugsden of Point Edward, Mr. and Mrs. Barry Lugsden of Sarnia and Mr. and Mrs. Tom White of London. Mrs. Aline Breton of Montreal is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Albert Verdoni - celebrating being one of three in Canada who won a motorized home in a recent contest. Mrs. Walter Hayward of Toronto is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Chester Baillie at the summer home at Cavers. Rev. H.C. Wilkinson of Port Hope visiting with Mrs. Lester McCuaig and Mrs. Bill Furlonger this week - the first time they'd met in fifty years. TRACK AND FIELD CLUB John Brooks, Canadian | champion in 1500 meters, | spent this summer in | Schreiber to promote Trac | and Field events, and in- erest in these activities | by forming a club. He was sponsored by the Youth and Recreation Branch, National Health = _ | and Welfare Branch. John, wh ing Idaho State University, on a Track Scholarship, and naturally on the university track team, is ; surprisingly, majoring in mathematics. Some of the track and field club who trained with John this summer - Bruce Hiller, Jill Boyar, Werner, Rainer and Claudia James, Tom Ray, Barbara Glad, Melvin Madge, Don Courtenay and Allan Zborsky, attending the four day Track and Field Clinic in Thunder Bay, sponsored by the Northwestern Ontario Track and Field Association. The instructors were top Track and Field coaches in Ontario, with some top Canadian athletes to | demonstrate various events. Also offered was a series of films of Olympic and Pan American Games, with outstanding athletic per: formance, prior fo the present Olympic games. continued page 7
