Mr. and Mrs. Christie are also visiting Peter's mother, Mrs. Lilyan Christie. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lidkea of Thunder Bay are visiting their families and old friends here, and Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Lidkea and son Mathew, of Kitchener are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Barry Harper. Michell McLaughlin is holidaying in Sioux Look- out with Mr. and Mrs. Dave McKay, his aunt and uncle. Mrs. Fred Harness is visiting her daughter, Miss Ora Mae Harness in Sault Ste Marie. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McKenna and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hiller and their families spent their holidays together touring southern Ontario, but like so many others from here had the same experience - the mom- ent they drove in a tent pole, down came the rain! The most original, and the funniest comment regard ing travelling with their families, as so many are doing this summer, was the reply of a young mother when questioned about sleeping arrangements: Did you ever hear of wall-to-wall kids? In sleeping bags, of course! Among the students going away for higher educa- tion this Fall are = Carolyn Glad, McMaster Univer- sity, Hamilton; Cathy Stokes, Toronto Institute of Medical Technology; Michael Spadoni, University of Toronto; Anthony (Tony) Commisso, Western Uni- versity, London; Robert Nesbitt, Lola Scott, Aileen Ross, Herb Holmes, Peter Walsh, Lakehead Univer- sity; Susan Phillips, Doris Lehto, Edith Walker, Beverley Hamilton, Joyce Cluett, Susan Dimmery, Cathy Bottomley, Debbie Caccame, Confederation College and Debra Lidkea is taking a secretarial course in Kitchener. Mr. and Mrs, R.B. Spadoni still hold the trophy for having the most in university at the same fime - Mike in Toronto University, Stan in Clarkson College Potsdam, N.Y., and in January Paddy, who's al- ready received his degree in Business Administration and Post Grad. will go to the Univeristy of Michigan) in Flint. Tel. 623-2745 One of the most interesting vacations this summer was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Holmes who spent a month in Newfoundland, searching out rela- tions of Ed's, coming fo the conclusion that the few there who were not relations wished they were! They saw the home where Mr. Holmes' father was born, in Seldom-Come=-Bye, of Fogo Island, and, the house in which his grandmother was born, visited in St. Johns, Stevensville, Deer Lake and many other places. Now they have their grandchildren, Shelly and Eric Holmes of Winnipeg visiting them. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. John C.
