PAGE 4 TERRACE BAY NEWS AUGUST 2,1972 WOMEN OF THE MOOSE MEETING At a recent meeting of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1426, Mrs. Stella Sadowick was installed as Recorder by Junior Graduate Regent, Anne Stachiw. Senior Regent Sadie Benko welcomed former member, Mrs. Betty Sweet from Duncan B.C. as a guest. Minutes of the previous and executive meetings were adopted as read. Thank you cards were re- ceived from Mrs. Marge Santerre, Mrs. June Schritt, and Mrs. Geralding Salesse. Reports were given by special and standing committees. Senior Regent reported that she had presented Chapter bur- saries fo Miss Judy Chopty and Miss Sonja Stojko. at the High School graduation exercises. Discussion took place on various events coming up which will be dealt with at the next meeting. Following adjournment, lunch was served by the executive committee. Raffle was won by Carol Foreman and pot of golf by Alice Yates. Chapter Night meeting will be held on Wed. Aug. 2nd, with executive being in charge of the programme. Three out of every 100 children born are mentally retarded to some degree. RECREATION NEWS Summersounds '72 - Billets Urgently Needed: , On Thursday, August 10th, Summersounds '72 will be performing in Terrace Bay at the Terrace Bay Campus Auditorium. In order to bring this group to town, it is our responsibility to provide billets for the | 37 performers. ; / To date we have received enough calls to accom- odate 12 out of the 37. If you can help out in any way, please give us a call ot 3542. Youth Dance = August 8th: "Sweet Blindness" of Toronto will be providing the music for a Youth Dance to be held on Tuesday, August 8th. The Dance will be held at the Terrace Bay Campus Auditorium. ] Admission prices will be posted later on this week. | Plan to attend. "Standards Clinic" in Terrace Bay August 6th: - Meet will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. MOORE 'S of TERRACE BAY ---- A Red Cross Standards Clinic will be held in Terrace Bay this Sunday, August 6th. Mr. Randy Cross, Area Supervisor will be the resource person for the Clinic. All instructors in the North Shore area will be taking part. The purpose of the Stand- ards Clinic will be to up~-date teaching techniques and strokes presently being offered in the Red Cross programme . Terrace Bay Swim Meet = August Sth: This Saturday, August 5th, the Terrace Bay Swim You can register at the swim pool office before Thursday evening, August 3rd, 1972. Races will be held in backcrawl, frontcrawl, breat | breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley. Swimmers must be at the pool by 12:00 on Saturday . All those helping at the meet are asked to be in the large meeting room from 10:00 to 11:00, August 5th, to be informed of their duties.
