NEW LIGHTING It was with the utmost satisfaction the hydro comm- ission and municipal council in Schreiber watched th new lighting on the highway, where it traverses the town, go into effect on July 10th. The project has been underway for five years, de- layed by construction on the road, and the local pleasure was shared by Ed. Armstrong, of the Ontar- io Hydro, Thunder Bay Sales and Service Superviser. The highlight intensity is produced by a Lucalux light bulb which is a long life intensity source of illumination. These bubls are also anti-glare, a protection for motorisis and thus a safety feature, producing a good level of light on the road, an added factor in pedes- trian safety. The aluminum poles are a clean, modern design. The line, with all cables underground, circles Schreiber, from the Lakeroad hill to the east end of the town. It has been installed at a cost of $19,000. 50 per cent of which is borne by the Ministry of Transporta- tion and Communication, and the balance by the Schreiber Hydro Commission, the latter being most grateful to Jim Tarling, Consumer Serivce Supt.; and Ed. Armstrong, both of Thunder Bay, for their advice. BUS TOUR VISITS SCHREIBER Ruby Rebekah Lodge #279 and 1.0.0 .F.
