We then proceeded to the burough of North York where the modern and beautiful Glendon Campus of York University was situated. Here was to be where we were to sleep and eat most of our meals during our stay. Monday June 12th - After breakfast we visited the Royal Ontario Museum. Touring the R.O.M. proved interesting with many fascinating and unique exhibits After the R.O.M. we visited the legislative Building where we received a guided tour and had our picture taken. We also saw and talked to M.P. Jack Stokes. After the tour we attended a session of provincial parliament. Later on in the afternoon, our class visited the renowned City Hall. After a tour of the City Hall we returned to the University cafeteria for supper. After supper we spent the remainder of the evening shopping at the Multi-Million dollar Yorkdale shopping plaza. » Tuesday, June 13th - Early that morning our class travelled to the Ontario Science Centre. We wand- ered around viewing exhibits and arcades. We also watched various demonstrations performed by the in- telligent and good natured people. Later in the evening we stopped at the McLaughlan Planetarium Here we watched the very interesting and realistic showing of star formations and their importance to us. Wednesday, June 14th - Very early that morning we left Toronto for Niagara Falls. On our way we stopped off to visit the historic Stoney Creek Battle Ground. We also stopped in Welland to see a ship passing through the Welland Canal. Further on we viewed the new construction area of the new canal. In the afternoon we toured Queenstan Heights and ascended up the Brock Monument. On the way up the narrow stairway we ran into a slight disturbance . To close the afternoon we visited the "Believe It Or Not Museum" and "Tussauds Wax Museum". which we found to be very fascinating. Just before supper at the "Red Barn" we stopped off at the "Oneida Observation Tower". The Niagara Falls Museum and the Table Rock Scenic Tunnels were on the schedule for that evening. We then waited until dark to view the Niagara Falls by its illumin- ated colour lights. After departing from the falls, we arrived back in Toronto late that night. Thurday, June 15th - First on the agenda was a tour of Mackenzie House, one of Toronto's older buildings. We then spent the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon at Ontario Place. There our class watched two fascinating movies "North of Superior" and "A Place to Stand" in the Cinesphere The scressn on which these films were shown was é storeys high. Across the street, we finished off the afternoon wandering through the Sports and Hockey Hall of Fame. In the evening, those who wanted to, went swimming in York University's indoor pool . Friday, June 16th = In place of touring the CBC studious (the workers were on strike) we took the sub way around Toronto. Close to an hour later we re- ceived a guided tour of Black Creek Pioneer Village After lunch our class stopped at historic Old Fort York before our driver, Mark Boudreau drove us to Younge Street where we spent our last night shop- ping in downtown Toronto. Our trip was well organized and very enjoyable due to the hard work of many people. = Story submitted by a grade 8 student.
