Prizes and trophies for play in the Mens League and trophies for Ladies League were awarded at the banquet which was held at the Moose Hall. Club Champions and winners of the Caccamo Trophy were Bob Roberts, skip; Ed Kennedy, third; George Caron, second; and Archie Heinrich, lead. Winners of the Hiram Walker Trophy were Hugh Hamilton, skip; Emil Boucher, third; John Benko, second and H. Chow, lead. Prize round winners - Carling Trophy were, "A" Dick Baron, skip; Nestor Trach, third; H. McCormach second; and Dick Mannisto, lead. "B" round winners were Danny Kenney, skip; Joe Benney, third; Werner Hermes, second and Gerry Dickson, lead. Winners of the Kimberly-Clark mixed bonspiel Trophy were Charlie Koski, skip; Stephie Dorman, third; H. McCormack, second and Linda Turner, lead. Winners of the mixed league and the Canadian | mperial Bank of Commerce trophy were Ken Johnson, skip; Betty Randa, third; Danny Kenney, second and Ricki Johnson, lead. Winners of Trophies for Ladies League competition, Club Champions and winners of a trophy donated by Dave Desrosiers were Ollie Chapman, skip; Shirley Richards, third; Jeanette Gunter, second and Jeanne Desrosiers, lead. "A" division winners of the Laskin Trophy were Connie Cvitkovich, skip; Elizabeth Mcleod, third; Shirley Caron, second and Janice Brown, lead. "B" division winners of the Molson's Trophy were continued page 6 ...... COUNCIL QUOTES Terrace Bay Town Council held a short meeting Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. Minutes were adopted as read. Correspondence included a letter from Reeve Cavanaugh, requesting assistance and co- operation of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, for the July Ist celebrations. In his request, Reeve Cavanaugh pointed out the huge success of the celebrations in 1971, due mainly to the major role played by the Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary. A letter from the Municipal Association of Police Governing Authorities included an invoice for 1972 membership. This was passed. The 1972 Hydro capital budget was submitted to Ontario Hydro Electric Commission for its approval . A request was received from the Beardmore- Jellicoe Legion for permission to sell derby tickets on their annual fish derby. This was approved. A letter was received from the secretary of the Guide and Brownies association to ask permission to hold their annual Cookie Day on May 19th. Council gave their approval . A letter was sent to Mr. Grant Puttock, Wood- lands Manager, advising him of Council's approval for use of public roads in the South camp area. A letter was sent to the Director of Education, Lake Superior Board, advising of the expected build- ing starts in the new Lakeview extension. The building Inspector submitted his report. Rec- reation Committee minutes were received. Accounts passed for payment were: Township - $12,132.87; Hydro - $13,113.61; Library - $861.32; Recreation Committee - $8,714.44, :
