A hospital should be, in the first instance, a community affair. This feeling can be expressed in many ways. It can be expressed by bringing the community into the hospital by, say, a performance of a local church choir, or by bringing the hospital into the community by inviting members of the staff to speak at a local luncheon or dinner meeting. All such activities can serve to create a stronger bond between the hospital and the community it serves. They promote understanding for, responsive- ness fo, and appreciation of our area's health needs. Let us continue to support and take pride in our local public hospital. NORTHERN AFFAIRS HELPS The following is intended to alleviate problems in registering a used vehicle, purchased outside of Ontario. In this area it may be fairly common for a person to buy a car in Manitoba. However their licensing laws are somewhat diff- erent in that the plates stay with the owner. In Ontario the plates remain with the vehicle when sold. Before registering a motor vehicle in Ontario the following forms etc., are required. 1. Form JL1 Ontario application to register a passenger vehicle. 2. The last Manitoba registration permit for the vehicle. This can be in the form of: (a) a telegram from the Manitoba Motor Vehicles Branch, giving the required information (b) a certified copy of the permit. (c) a letter from the Motor Vehicles Branch giving the required information. 3. A certificate of mechanical fitness, issued in Ontario. continued page 3 .......
