Penny Caccamo, corresponding secretary, Mrs. Simonne 'Connelly, treasurer.The new executive repeated the Act of Consecration and Father O'Flaherty presented the gavel to the president. Mrs. McGrath, thanked the nominating committee for their work, expressed her appreciation for the sup- port given her during the past year, and said to both new executive and members that suggestions and new ideas would be welcommed throughout theyear. It was decided to again have the Rosary recited daily in the Church at 2 p.m. during the month of May for World Peace and Vocations. The president urged members to attend the Diocesan convention being held in Atikokan on May 9, 10, 11 when the theme will be Christian Women in Today's World. Members agreed to do not catering during the month} of July and August = their summer recess. A donation was made to the Cancer Society. Father O'Flaherty commended the members on their support of the church in all its work and in part=- icular their work for their local parish. New convenors were named as follows: Mrs. Rena Ross = Church Life; Mrs. Claire Power = Organization; Mrs. Irene Borutski = Christian Family Life; Mrs. Geraldine McColeman - Public Relations and Com- munications; Mrs. Liz Prescotte - Social, Economic and Civic Welfare; Mrs. Laurette McParland - Social Action; Mrs. Lucille Chicoine = Cultural Life. The following were appointed group captains - ivesdames Lianne Beauparlant, Rita Cook, Betty Ryan, Joan Cardiff, Retta Pearson, Mary Velentino, Joan Guina, Toots Jacues, Diane Figliomeni, with Mrs, Edna Cocks as Social Convenor. PHILLIPS FUNERAL The funeral of the late Mrs. Jack Phillips age 85, whose death occurred suddenly on April 11, in Thun=- der Bay, was conducted on April 14 in St. Andrew's United Church in Schreiber by the Rev. E.C, Prin- selaar. vrs, George Lengyel was the organist, the senior choir leading in singing the hymns Rock of Ages and Unto the Hills. The honorary pall bearers were F.V, Harness, Gino Caccamo, George Walsh, Bruce Simon, Harry Cost- all, and Jack Bryson. The active bearers were George Riley, Len Crock- ford (Terrace Bay), Bill Weaver (White River), Alec Gordon, Norman Glad, and Len Hiller, Interment was in the Schreiber cememtery. Mrs. Phillips" immediate survivors are her daughter Ruth (Mrs. Harry Nevins, Toronto) her son Burton, of Schreiber, andfive grandchildren. She was predecea- sed by her husband in Feb. 1971, Mrs. Phillips was born vary Egheline ivicLean, in Alberton, P.E.l., But she was always called Eed by her husband and friends. She came to Schreiber 52 years ago and was that rare individual here who supported all organiz~ ations and belonged to none, except her church. Her whole life belonged to her husband and family, and during her husband's long career in politics and other civic enterprizes she was a welcoming, grac- ious hostess for him whtever the occasion, and seem- ingly, always prepared, however short the notice was.
