GOD SAVE THE QUEEN LADIES AUXILIARY The Afternoon Group of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church met on Monday, afternoon. President June Schritt, opened the meeting with a few words of welcome. Mrs. Jean Fisher gave the Worship. Mrs. Lil Harris read the minutes of the last meeting, and gave the treasurer's report. Correspond- ence included a letter from the Church Board, reque- sting that anyone wishing to use the Church Hall con- tact Mrs. Pam Jones, to prevent a conflict of events. These events will be marked on the Church calender in the Narthex. The Canadian Cancer Society thanked the auxiliary for a recent donation. Mrs. Soughton asked for volun- teers to assist her in the Morning service on Mother's Day. : Mrs. Farrow and Mrs. Duriez will bring lunch at the May meeting. Mrs. Chadwell will take the Wor- ship service. Mrs. Schritt closed the meeting with a short reading. The members set the tables for the Ea- stern Star dinner to be held Monday evening. WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT Mr. and Mrs. Rene Gaudet, formerly of Terrace Bay, are happy to announce the marriage of their "daughter, Carole to Mr. Paul Thomas of Deep River, Ontario. The ceremony took place, February 12th, in the St. Theresa Church in Temiscaming, Quebec. The bride was radiant in her long white gown of "hammered peau de soie" with a veil of imported lace. She wore a tiny stone on a gold chain as her only jewelry, a gift from the groom ..Her flowers were pink sweetheart roses. Her attendants wearing identical long gowns of shocking pink Fortrel were Miss Maureen Lovett of Toronto, as maid of honour, Miss Suzanne Gaudet as bridemaid, and Rozane Gaudet, as flower girl. The groom wore a checkered brown suit with beige shirt and brown tie. Mr. Gerry Thomas, brother of groom was the best man. Roy Thomas and Ronald Gaudet were ushers. Rev- erend Claude Tardiff, a close friend of the couple blessed the vows. The hymns were sung by Mr. P. Lessard accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Lessard, uncle and aunt of the bride. The reception was held at the White Oaks Inne. Carole and Paul are making their home in Toronto where they are both students of Toronto University. CURLING CLUB NEWS The curling season has ended and the winners of the various events are as follows: Grand Aggregate = Club Champions, and a new trophy donated by Dave Desrosiers, was won by Ollie Chapman rink of Shirley Richards, Jeanette Gunter (continued on page 6)
