In answer to a letter from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, offering their old building for sale, Council informed them at this time they could foresee no need to purchase it. Sports Lottery requested permission to again sell tickets in this area. Permission was granted. A motion was passed to send two delegates to the Municipal convention in Ottawa in July. Accounts passed for payments were: Township = $28,939.69; Hydro - $12,444.86; Library - $1,090.- 64; Recreation Committee - $18,906.01. A motion was made that the Road Superintendent report on a monthly basis to Council as to the condi- tion of the Township roads. MRS. G. RAMSAY ELECTED C .W.L. PRESIDENT The General monthly meeting of St. Martin's of Tours Catholic Women's League, was held in the Church hall Sunday evening, April 9th, at 8:30 p.m. The meeting opened with League prayers. Mrs. G. Dashkewytch chaired the meeting. Minutes of the last General meeting and all correspondence were read by Mrs. P. Malashewski, and the treasurer's TT ETI», i Hi A SL report given by Mrs. A .Regis. The Standing Commit- | tees tabled their reports. A Muss for Our Lady of Good Counsel will be celebrated on April 26th. All who are able to are urged to attend. Mrs. A. Connors reported on the giant auction sale held, Saturday, April 8th. Mrs. Dashkewytch thanked Mrs. Connors and her committee for the tremendous job done on the auction sale. The Diocesan Convention will be held on May 9, 10 and 11th, in Atikokan. The theme is "Christian Woman in Today's World". All members are invited to attend this convention. The general meeting ad- journed. Mrs. Dashkewytch welcomed all members to the annual meeting.
