/ i [Al TERRACE BAY NEWS J VOL. 15 NO. 16 APRIL 20, 1972 15¢ PER COPY HAROLD MARSH HONOURED ON RETIREMENT On March 30th, at the Terrace Bay votor Hotel, a Kimberly-Clark sponsored luncheon was held for Harol d Marsh. Harold had more than twenty-five years of service with Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company. He started work in the warehouse on May 27th, 1946 and in 1948 he was promoted to Head Storekeeper. At his luncheon, Mill Manager J.A. Ferrier pre- sented Harold with his Kimberly-Clark lifetime pens and permanent gold pass. Al Pattison presented him with a coloured pictore of Terrace Bay. Harold's special guests at the luncheon were Peggy Wellings, Bert Ratchford, John Graham and Bob Wallwin. These guests were among the first employees who started to work with Harold in the Warehouse and Harold had soMe amusing anecdotes relating to the early days in the Warehouse and in the community. Other guests were Verl Thompson and Jim Beddard from the | ndus- trial Relations Department. On the same day at 4:30 p.m. a group of Harold's friends gathered at All Pattison's home for a social hot and presented him with a retirement gift. Harold and Isabelle Marsh will continue to reside at 186 Laurier Avenue in Terrace Bay. Best wishes go out to Harold and Isabelle for many happy years of retirement. TERRACE BAY COUNCIL MEETING The Terrace Bay Council met on Tuesday evening, with all present. Minutes were adopted as read. A letter from Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Co. stated that they have offered to make available to the Township, at no charge, a pipe thawing machine. r Another letter from the manager of Kimberly- Clark, Mr. J. A. Ferrier, advised Council that as well as possible replacement of ice making machinery, the Recreation Association would be expected to provide a new heating system for the Recreation complex. A letter from the Dept. of Justice, Fire Marshall's Office, stated that there would be a Regional Fire- men's School held in Atikokan from June 5-9. Two volunteer firemen from the Terrace Bay Dept. have . been authorized to go. A request was received from Earl and Melvin Glad of Schreiber, that Council consider re-zoning an Cont. on Pg. 2
