Ann Birch and fourth in the first event went to Edgar Ray, Joy Riley, Mike Cosgrove, and Muriel Nesbitt. Second event winners were the Dan Secundiak rink with fJune Dukes, Doug Moore, and Angie Dranchuk over Dominic Cormisin with Bena Welbourne, Leo Courtemanche and Linda Timmerman. Other winners in the second event went to Bill Stefurak, Edna Cocks, Laurence Madge and Susan Phillips and fourth in the second event Alex fKrystia, Kaye Fraser, Larry Fraser, and Shirley Krystia. Theird event winners were Georg Riley, Norma Crockford, Edgar LeBlanc, and Helen LeBlanc, winning out over Jim McCuaig ( Thunder Bay ) with Helen Dooley, Frank Walker, and Mryna McCuaig. With practically the whole McCuaig family cheering Jim on it was a hard loss to take. Tough luck Jim! Due to some uncanny trick of fate Edgar Ray's rink placed third in this event as well as fourth in the first Finally Brian Ray with his Rossport rink of Josie Hubelit, Bill Hubelit and Billie' Ann Saarinen placed fourth in the third event. Bill Weaver of White River with wife Lorraine, D'Arcy Furlonger and Billie Weaver won the crying towel for the first rink knocked out of play. Entertainment Saturday night was supplied by Fred McCloeman and Doug Moore. Dancing went on to the wee hours in the morning and it showed on some of the ~ curlers at the 11 a.m. draw Sunday morning. The hamper draw was won by Larry Fraser of Schre- iber. THE ANGEL'S HARP Competition was great and all the girls could have won, but as we all kno there must be one winner. Michelle Bedard represent- ed our school beautifully asHoly Angels' speaker in th Ontario Hydro Public Speaking Contest. The comp- etitions were held at the high school in Red Rock las tweek . Runners up in the elimination speeches were - Kim Karns, grade 7 student and Cathy Magio, grade 8 student.
