The meeting was adjourned and Mrs. Thompson int- roduced Mr. Peter Barz, who gave an interesting sho- wing of coloured slides taken in Mexico. Mrs. Thompson thanked Mr : Barz. Lunch was served by Mrs. Elsie Berndtsson and Mrs. Thompson. E.B. "Ted" Young Honoured on Retirement On February 4th, at the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel, a Kimberly-Clark sponsored luncheon was held for Ted Young. Ted Young had more than 36 years of service with the Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company and the Spruce Falls Power and Paper Company. He started with Spruce Falls in the Steam Department in 1935 as a Paper Mill Turbine Operator. He transferred to Terrace Bay in 1951 as the Steam Plant Supervisor. He held a First Class Stationery Engineer's Certificate for the Province of Ontario. At. his luncheon, Mill Manager J.A. Ferrier present ted Ted with his Kimberly-Clark lifetime pension and permanent gold pass. Barry Stephen presented him with a coloured picture of Terrace Bay. Ted's special guests at the luncheon were his two sons Bruce and Wayne along with their wives Joan and Barbara Young, as well as his wife Tina Young. Others pre- sent were John Knight, Steam Plant Supervisor, V. Thompson and J. Beddard. On February 5th, a mixed open party for Mr. and Mrs. Young was held at the Masonic Hall which was well attended by a good number of the people from the community. Ted andTina Young have made plans for their retir- ement as Ted purchased a 16 foot house trailer, fully equipped, in which they can travel. In fact, a few days after the luncheon, Ted and his wife left for an extended trip to Florida. Ted and Tina Young will continue to reside at 136 Poplar Crescent ..in Terrace Bay 'and just about the time the snow has left we will no doubt see Ted and Tina return from their holiday in Florida.
