Forgues, high school principal, Schreiber - Terrace Bay, and three staff members presented an extensive report on 'business and commerce de- partment and the department: of trades and technology in Schreiber - Terrace Bay high school at recent meeting of Lake Superior Board of Educa- tion: (a) The need for a second portable class on the Schreiber campus. It was suggested that the cost could be reduced by having Mr. Capar, head of the technical wing, with his stu- dents, undertake to construct the room. (b) The venilation in the auto shop must be improved and an exhaust fan for this purpose would be installed as soon as possible. (¢) Capital equipment for the school as requested received thorough scrutiny before approv- al, and certain changes were requested. Once a budget is es- tablished for the purchase of equipment, it will then be up to the principal to indicate his pri- orities for the year. (d) The committee expressed concern that the proposed elec- trical technology division would expand electronics at the ex- pense of the electrical division. (e) It was suggested that blueprint reading and estimat- ing would be of greater impor- tance than drafting in the pro- posal to realign the technical courses.
