PLAN LICORICE ALLSORTS BLITZ aN 3 ¥ i i 4 i b-] ' 3 ] The L.A. to Guides and Brownies held their monthly meeting in the Community Church. The meeting was chaired by Mrs. Gail Moore and opened with the Guide Prayer. Minutes were read by Secretary, Mrs. Rita McBride. Plans were discussed regarding the Annual Mother and Daughter Banquet which will be held sometime in February. It was also decided to have a Licorice Allsorts Blitz on December 17th between 5 - 8 p.m. Pro- ceeds fo be used for the local Guide and Brownie movement. Guides and Brownies will be canvassing door to - door. It is hoped that these young, people will be given a warm welcome. The meeting was adjourned and a lovely lunch was served by D. Dakin and P. Boutilier. RECREATION NEWS appear in next week's News. DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER FOR ..... Ringette League = The Recreation Office will be accepting registrations for Ringette UP TO AND IN CLUDING THIS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3rd. The following leagues are available and if you are of age and are interested in playing Ringette, be sure to get a registration form from the Recreation Office, fill it out properly, and return it to the office by December 3rd. Details regarding leagues, days and times of sessions will be published in next week's News. Pre-Schoolers Skating School = The Recreation Office will be accepting names from parents of pre schoolers who would be interested in having their sons or daughters taught the techniques of skating. Any sons or daughters attending kindergarten will be eligible to register for this skating school . Further details regarding the Skating School will NORTH SHORE MINOR HOCKEY LEAGUE This coming Sunday, December 5th, the three Minor Hockey teams from Schreiber will be visiting the Terrace Bay Major Peewees, Bantams and Midgets Game times will be as follows: - 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.- Schreiber Major Peewees vs Terrace Bay Major Peewees; 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. = Schreiber Bantams vs Terrace Bay Tantams; 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Schreiber Midgets vs Terrace Bay Midgets Silver collection at the door. JUNIOR BASKETBALL All those who registered for Junior Basketball are reminded that their next session will take place this Saturday, Decemer 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon All registrants should note that this will be the last session for this year as the Kimberly-Clark Christmas Party will be held at the High School Auditorium on Saturday morning, December 18th. RECREATION PROGRAMME BROCHURES A reminder to all Terrace Bay residents that Recreation Programme brochures for Winter 1971-72 will be delivered door-to-door by next Wednesday, December 9th. If you have not received yours, sim- ply call the Recreation Office at 3542 and a brochure will be made available to you. When you receive your brochure, be sure to keep it on hand as it outlines various programmes that are taking place along with information and contact per- sons for the various activities. ZONE'A' CONFERENCE SATURDAY Zone 'A' of the Ontario Municipal Recreation Association, which covers Schreiber, Terrace Bay, Marathon and Manitouwadge, will be holding their Fall conference this coming Saturday, December 4th in Marathon. The conference is open to anyone interested in Recreation, particularly Recreation committees, mun- icipal councils and community groups. Topics for discussion during this one-day conference will be "Recreation and the Regional School Board" and "Recreation and Regional Government". The guest resource leader for this conference will be our local M.P.P. Jack Stokes.
