NOVEMBER 4, 1971 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 13 LIBRARY It was with some amusement the Schreiber Public Library board discovered, at their October meeting, that they now have the grandiose designation of 3185089 SPL 400523 - 201 Mrs. Bill Kirkpatrick, librarian, reported some 869 books borrowed in September and 39 new mem- bers enrolled since June. She also showed a group of new reference books which are being widely used. The book "Go Ask Alice" was placed on order, and Mrs. M.J. McGrath was authorized to purchase a number of "How To Draw" books. Other books, which would assist the local 'art club, an interested and serious groups, are being considered for the library. Some dissatisfaction was expressed in the delay in filling orders for books and inquiries will be made regarding methods used by other libraries. The board is composed of persons interested in reading and willing to donate their time to library purposes. But, it was felt, in the case of Miss Gwen Hadley, the secretary-treasurer, a full-time teacher, the burden of bookkeeping is becoming a time= consuming task and assistance will be sought for this duty. The book exchange, with the Regional library, will be made on November 15th. Some 500 books will be selected. Mrs. D'Arcy McGuire presided for the meeting. ) <n LI [/ M_ Ist photo next column ...
