PAGE 4 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 27, 1971 DEPARTMENT OF LANDS AND FORESTS TENDER FOR SCARIFICATION Tenders for scarification are requested to tunnel approximately 700 acres of brushy and grassy sites in the Limestone Lake area of the Geraldton For- est District using a crawler type tractor with a minimum of 180 rated net horsepower. The successful tenderer will carry out a bladé- type of scarification using a V-blade supplied by the Department of Lands and Forests. Work should commence about November 8th, and be completed by January 31st, 1972. Tenders will be accepted for one (1) machine only. Tender forms and details can be obtained from the undersigned. A certified Cheque in the amount of $250.00 as a Performance Bond must accompany the tender form. JACK STOKES RE-ELECTED Jack Stokes, of the New Democratic Party, easily won the recent election. Terrace Bay + had a fair turn out of voters over 70%. With 777 ballots cast, out of a possible 1013, Mr. Stokes tallied 467, Mr. Assad, for the Liberals 163, and Mr. Brydges, Progressive Conservative, 138. There were 9 spoiled ballots.
