Resolved That: The Board approve that a second teacher be hired immediately to teach Oral French in the Marathon Public Schools on a full time basis. Resolved That: The general policy of sharing of available facilities and staff between Public, Separate and Secondary Schools in the Division be approved. The costs to be pro rated to the appro- priate jurisdiction. Resolved That: The Board approve the night school rates recommended by the Salary Committee for thé school year 1971-72 as listed in Item B13 of the Agenda, of Board Meeting #13/71. Resolved That: The Board approve the acquisition of two lots on Bayview Avenue, Schreiber for future use, for an approximate cost of $550.00 =ach. Chemicals and their control in the schools will be the subject of discussion and formulation of regulations at the next meeting of Principals. The next meeting of the Board will be on Tuesday, November 16th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Marathon High School. PRESS RELEASE The 26th regular meeting of the Northwestern Ontario Kraft Mills Effluent Improvement Committee was held October 19th at the Dryden Paper Company Mill in Dryden. : This group meets semi-annually to discuss problems of mutual interest and is dedicated to improving the quality of air emissions, effluents, and solids waste disposal methods. Progress of the various projects undertaken by the individual operations to improve effluent and air quality were reviewed. : In attendance were representatives from member mills: Dryden Paper Company Ltd., Dryden; Domtar Packaging Ltd., Red Rock; Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company Ltd., Terrace Bay; The Ontario- Minnesota Pulp and Paper Company Ltd., Fort Frances; American Can of Canada Ltd., Marathon.
