"THE OWL'S HOOT" THOUGHT OF THE WEEK The man who spends his life building bridges has no right to complain if he is lonely. _-- Mary L. Wright, TEACHER OF THE WEEK = Mr. R.F. Baron Photo by P. Caccamo Mr. Baron was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba but moved to the Red Lake gold mining district at an early age. He received his elementary and secon- dary education in Red Lake and proceeded to the University of Manitoba where he completed an Hon- ours Science program in mathematics and physics, and a year in the Faculty of Education. His first teaching position was at Dryden High School where he spent four years teaching mathem- atics to Grades 9 to 12 inclusive, and physics to Grades 11 and 13. He spent the next four years at Terrace Bay High School where he taught math- ematics to Grades 9 to 12 inclusive. With the amalgamation of the Schreiber and Terrace Bay High Schools, he transferred to Schreiber Campus, primarily to become involved in teaching Year 5 (grade 13) mathematics. He thus feels that he can work with students from both communities in a subject area where most of his training has been at the senior level. er Mr. Baron is married, and he has a young son and daughter. He and his wife, Anne, enjoy the outdoors and take full advantage of the fine recrea- * tional facilities available in the district. We are pleased to have Mr. Baron in our midst and hope that he will remain on the staff of Schreibe -Terrace Bay High School for many years to come.
