PAGE 12 FORMER TERRACE BAY GIRL WEDS Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Downey daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell C. Downey of Arcata California became the bride of Cp. Robert Dale Phelps son of Mr. and-Mrs. vin B. Phelps of Fieldbrook California in a double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore an empire style gown of white polyester crepe. The bodice was fashioned with a standup collar and long sleeves finished with lace edging. Lace was used for the front panel of the gown and an inverted g TERRACE BAY NEWS pleat accented with a bow, at the center back formed a train. Lace matching that on the gown formed her shoulder length veil and she carried a bouquet of yellow and white daisies. Sharon Desrosiers of Duncan B.C., also formerly of Terrace Bay was maid of honour wearing pale yellow satinetie. Her gown was fashioned similarly to the bride's but with slightly lowered round neck- line and short sleeves. Wearing similar gowns of pale green satinette the bridesmaids were Joanne Downey, sister of the bride still. at home, and Gerry Giddings a friend. They all carried bouquets of daisies tied with yellow and green ribbons matching their gowns. Barbara Weaver of Eugene Oregon, also formerly from Terrace Bay, was flower girl wearing pale yellow flocked with tiny white daisies and dots accented with pale green stems. Her twin brother was ring bearer. The groom was attended by his uncle, Charles Faulku and his brothers Richard and Butch Phelps served as ushers. Daisies, yellow and-green streamers and a large wedding bell in the center of the room were used in the decor at the home of the bride's parents wher the reception was held. Cpl. and Mrs. Robert D. Phelps now reside at 1503 Alvarado, Oceanside Calif. , 92054 where the groom is serving in the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton. He is specializing in electronics maintenance. The date and location of the next meeting of this Board has been changed, and will now be held in the Marathon High School on Monday, August 23, 1971 at 7:00 p.m. : WEEKLY REPORT FROM THE SCHREIBER DETACHMENT OF THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE July 25th = August 21st Report - On July 25th, Constable Lapworth conducted a Liquor investigation which resulted in two person being charged, one Minor Consuming and the other, Supply liquor to Minor and both are summoned to appear in court at a later date. : On July 28th William Burkhold reported his canoe stolen and investigation revealed canoe driffed away and was located at the opposite . shore of Walker Lake and returned to owner. Hacquoil construction reported theft of welding equipment from their pit site on July 28th. This theft is still under investigation by Constable Lap- worth. Constable Bosley located an eleven year old youth from Clawson, Michigan, reported lost in the bush near Cavers hill on July 30th. Subject suffered minor injuries. On July 31st, Constable Anderson investigated a complaint of a disturbance at Birch Motors, result- ing in a local youth being charged with Causing a Disturbance. Subject will appear in court at a later date. July 31st, Constable Tilbury investigated a report of a missing girl at Rossport. Subject located and returned home. C. Commisso reported someone had thrown a rock through a picture window in his residence on August 1st. Constable Anderson is still investigating the occurrence. A vehicle reported stolen in Sudbury was recovered abandoned at C .P.R. Station in Schreiber by Con- stable Tilbury and returned to owner. Subject apprehended at Nipigon and dealt with by Nip- igon O.P.P. : continued page 13.......
