KENNETH S. HOLMES FUNERAL The funeral of the late Kenneth S. Holmes, whose death occurred suddenly while at camp on Rebekah Island, Rainy Lake, July 17, was conducted by the Rev. E.C. Prinselaar in St. Andrew's United Church in Schreiber on July 21st. Miss Nola Fummerton was organist, accompanying the senior choir. The hymns chosen were "When the day of Toil is Ended" and "Blest Be The Tie that Binds". Pall bearers were Martin Scotten, Herbie and Hughie Holmes, grandsons of the deceased and Douglas Mosher, Don Mosher and Ray Cameron, nephews. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr. Holmes, who was 85 years old, was born in Seldom-Come-By, Nfld. and came to Schreiber in 1949. : He was predeceased by his wife, the former - Helen Mosher, in 1949, and a son, Kenneth, in 1938. He is survived by one daughter, Gladys (Mrs. Martin Scotten) of Pointe Claire, Que.; five sons, Edwin and Earl of Schreiber; Roy of Toronto, Roger of Winnipeg and Glen of Kitimat, B.C .; four sisters, Ethel (Mrs. Allan Rowe), Deer Lake, Nfld.; Ida (Mrs. Jonas Nobel), Springdale, Nfld.; Beatrice (Mrs. Sydney Skinner) Carmonville, Nfld.; and Pearl (Mrs. Alfred Burton) Montreal; a brother, William of Seldom-Come-By, Nfld; also 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. HENRI-PRESCOTT VOWS EXCHANGED On June 26th, in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Schreiber, Father F.J. Meyer solemnized 'the marriage of Marion Rita, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Prescott and Yves Herman Henri, son of Mr. Armand Henri, of St. Lin, Quebec. Miss Brenda Lalonde was organist and Giovanni Cebrario, soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in a formal shift of sil ligoda, with A line skirt trimmed with applique of Guipere lace and centred with self covered buttons. The pinch in waist with overlay of matching lace bodice with stand-up collar, centred with a bow, had bell sleeves edged with the Guipere lace. The detachable train also was trimmed with lace and caught at neckline of the gown. Her bouffant veil of silk illusion was held by a cluster of lace edged with irridescents centred with pearl droplet. She carried a bouquet of red roses. The bride was attended by Mrs. Art Parent, her cousin, as matron of honor, Miss Lola Scott, brides- maid and Colleen Costall, a niece, as flower girl. They wore identically designed frocks with ruffled white organza bodices, empire waistlines topped with flower embroidered material and full lime green skirts and their flowers were organe ice carnations. The older attendants wore flowers in their hair and the flower girl a bow. Arthur Bourgouin was best man and ushers were Art Parent and R:E. Jean Henri. For their wedding trip to Montreal the bride wore a navy and white crimpknit walking suit, with white accessories and corsage of red carnations. They will make their home at 201 Quebec St. in Schreiber. The wedding dinner was given in the town hall with Russell Weaver, the bride's uncle as M.C. and the toast to the bride given by Joe Harris, another uncle.
