McCuaig were in Chapleau on July 17 to congratulate "Jiggs" Goldstein, who retired that day. The Goldstein's home has been open fo the many railroaders on the 'passenger run' from Thunder Bay to Chapleau for many years. Fur- ious cribbage games were played by the passenger men who - otherwise = would have spent dull evenings in the Chapleau Y.M.C.A. Most of the passengers conductors until now take their run, out of Thunder Bay, but prefer to live in Schreiber, their home terminal. Some of course are in Chapleau. And the 'balance of mileage' they work out is something to be puzzled about. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Riley had their grandson and his wife = Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Gerow, from Nova Scotia visiting them last week = the highlight of their visit, a four day fishing trip to Link Lake. BRIDE-ELECT HONORED Miss Muriel Holmes was honored by her friends at a shower tea held in the United Church hall on July 21st.
