MR, E, PERSS. BOX 375 TERRACE B/ v TERRACE BAY NEWS Vol. 14 No. 29 Serving The District July 21, 1971 COUNCIL QUOTES Terrace Bay Town Council met in regular session, with Reeve Cavanaugh, Councillors Bray, Chisholm and Kennedy present. After the minutes were adopted, a resolution passed by the Township of Marathon was read, endorsing the proposal for an expansion to the exisiting Pinewood Court, Home for the Aged, and stating further that they cannot endorse the suggestion that further homes be established in small communities. This resolution was unanimously endorsed by the Township of Terrace Bay, and the Borad-of Management will be so advised. A proposal submitted on behalf of a prospective Motel builder was requested to be deleted from the agenda. Due to the nature, and the hours depending thereon for his livelihood, Jack Caccamo has regretfully sub- mitted his appreciation to the Reeve and Council as well as Clerk Hanley, for the co-operation and good fellowship he had enjoyed tremendously over his term of office. The resignation was accepted with sincere regret, and with a hearty vote of appreciation to Jack, for the contributions he has made on behalf of the citizens of Terrace Bay as Councillor. Reeve Cavanaugh wrote a letter to the Association of Mayors and Reeves, pointing out that although there are many member small municipalities from the District of Thunder Bay, yet there are not representa- tives on the executive of the Association from these * small municipalities, and he requested that the nom- inating committee consider this item prior to the next convention. A letter of acknowledgement was received from the = Board. continued page 4 ....... DR. D.J.M.
