This year two Schreiber High School students Ken Scott and Sharon Smith have been recommended for this award. In the fall Ken is studying Engineering at Waterloo University and Sharon is enrolling in an Honours Bachelor of Arts program at Lakehead Univer- sity. Ken Scott i Sharon Smith. vd C. COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES Forty-seven students of Terrace Bay High School were honoured at the 1971 graduation exercises on Monday, June 21st. The high school auditorium which was decorated with streamers, Kleenex flowers and cartoon char- acters was filled with parents, teachers, and friends of the graduates. Af the start of the ceremony the graduates filed onto the stage and "O Canada" was sung to the piano accompaniment of Miss Pat Megraw . Invocation was given by Rev. Father A. Greengras: after which Mr. WW. Rowsome made a few open- ing remarks and introduced the teaching staff. Con- gratulations were extended from the Township of Terrace Bay although Mr. A. Chisholm was unable to attend. The Lake Superior Board of Education was represent ed by Trustee, Mr. H. Rutetski and Mr. E.J. Mor- gan, director, who gave words of encouragement to both the students and Mr. Rowsome in their future ventures. Manager, Mr. J. Ferrier gave congratulations from Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company Ltd. A piano solo, "We've Only Just Begun", by Miss Pat Megraw provided an enjoyable interlude in the program. The guest speaker for the evening was Mr. W.F. Colborne from the Department of Education. Mr. Colborne gave an interesting address emphasizing small town life and mentioning numerous success stories of people from small towns.
