Moffat a Minister in Thunder Bay; Mrs. Mary Morrison, a housewife and social planning worker in Thunder Bay; Mr. Norman Richards, President of the Thunder Bay and District Labour Council; Dean Timothy Ryan, Dean of Arts at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay; Mr. Fred Soughton, training and safety specialist in Terrace Bay; Mr. J.M, Steele, Director of the Fort Frances-Rainy River Board of Education; Miss Helen Stemerowicz, Primary School Consultant for the Kenora Board of Education; and Mr. Harold Teft, an architect in Thunder Bay. The precedure for selection of council members started with informal inquiries in the area last fall. Core committees, steering committees and nomina-- tions committees were then formed - by citizens within the region = leading fo a formal slate of candidates for OECA approval . Four . other OECA regional councils are in the process of being established. Their operational areas are North Eastern Ontario, Eastern Ontario, South Western Ontario and South Central Ontario. E The Schreiber-Terrace Bay Association for the Mentally Retarded held a drive for good used toys - and stuffed animals, to be presented to the children's Ward of the Lakehead Psychiatrict Hospital . 3 Spear-headed by Marg Santerre and Rita Corrigan all kinds of stuffed toys were made, with the co-oper: ation of the Ladies Afternoon Group of the Communit Church, who cut nylons and stuffed the toys.
