Vol. 14 No. 24 Serving The District PS 00.5 971, aD June 1, ayghrutac np af eh SCHREIBER DIVISION PLANS CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTRE Canadian Pacific plans to establish a customer service centre on its Schreiber Division, to give round-the-clock service to customers in the area from Cartier, Ontario to Thunder Bay. The company already has customer service centres operating successfully on its Toronto, London, Sud- bury and Smith Falls divisions in Ontario, and in eight other centres across the country. The customer service centre is an action-oriented system that ties together a toll-free telephone net- work available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, telecommunications circuits, data processing equip- ment and mobile supervisors into a single service group. An application dealing with the introduction of improved customer service on the Schreiber Division has been filed with the Canadian Transport Commis=- sion in Ottawa. Aft the same time, elected repre- 'sentatives in the provincial legislature and the fed- eral parliament as well as municipal officials, are being informed of the plan. The proposed centre will be located in the exist- "ing customer service centre at Sudbury and will serve customers of CP Rail, CP Air, CP Ships, CP Express, CP Telecommunications and CP Hotels. The staff of specially trained personnel in the centre will be augmented by a team of five trained mobile supervisors who will travel assigned routes throughout the area assisting customers in obtaining information and assuring that the proper services are being provided. In addition to direct contact with mobile super- visors, customers throughout the division will be as - close as the telephone to the customer service centre continued page 4 .......
