ANNUAL MINOR HOCKEY BANQUET The Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Association would like to remind all players, coaches, parents and in- terested persons that the annual banquet will be held this Saturday, June 19th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Moose Hall. Since expenses are going to be high to put this banquet on, the Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Associa- tion has decided to charge all people attending the banquet with the exception of players, trophy donors and guests. Tickets are required to attend the banquet AND WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR SATURDAY NIGHT AS WELL AS AT THE RECREATION OFFICE DURING THIS WEEK. At the time of this write-up, all players who were registered this past season should have been contacted by their respective coaches to determine attendance at the banquet. If you have not been contacted, simply give your coach a call. The Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Association feels that this year's banquet can only be a success if all players, coaches, managers, referees, parents and interested people attend. A number of special awards will be presented at the banquet. WHY NOT PLAN TO ATTEND? WOMEN OF THE MOOSE TO AWARD BURSARIES Women of the Moose Chapter 1426 held their June Chapter Night meeting with Senior Regent Alice Yates presiding. New member Marie Wiznuk was enrolled and wel- comed into the defending circle. S. Benko read the minutes of the previous meeting, correspondence and gave the financial report. All bills were passed for payment. Social Service chairman, Anne Todesco reported distributing four boxes of clothing and a box of bedding to needy families in the district. The bursaries which will be awarded to the most progressive students in grade 12, Terrace Bay High and grade 13, Schreiber High were discussed. A committee consisting of A. Yates, S. Dorman, S. Benko, J. Sopel and M. Woodruff will meet with Mr. Rowsome and Mr. Stewart to make up bursaries. Leona Fournier agreed fo convene the supper foll- owing the Moose-Legion Zone meeting with Yvonne Vienneau, Elma Moquin and Jacqueline Sopel assist- ing. Steffie Dorman agreed to convene for their breakfast. Raffle was won by Anne Todesco. LADIES GOLF NEWS Bright sunshine found nineteen lady golfers out in full force for the June 8th Twilight. Low Net winner was lvy Pattison; Runner-up Low Net - Jeannette Gunter; Longest Drive - Elizabeth Mcleod; Low Hole = Arlene Osmar; High Hole ~- Joyce Anderson. First pin round was played June 13th. Coming up - Saturday, June 19th, 1:00 p.m. Best Ball - nine holes. Monday, June 21st = 5:30 p.m. = Pin Round - eighteen holes; Monday, June 21st - Start of Match Play = nine holes.
