PAGE 20 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 9, 1971 ALTAR SOCIETY MEETING Final arrangements were made for the Penny Auction to be held on Sunday evening June 13th in the Community hall. Luncheon will be served and a door prize offered. Mrs. Ray Kenney presided and led in the opening prayers and discussions on the lenghty agenda. Mr. Mac Hubelit read the minutes which were adopted on motions of Mrs. Testori and Mrs. E. Gerow. Mrs. Todesco presented the financial state- ment which was approved on motions of Mrs. H. Legault and Mrs. O'Hagan. The president distributed several books of tickets on the money jar draw. She reported that Peter Gerow has accepted the job as gardener at the church. A report was heard on a recent Parish Council meeting. Discussion of the Parish picnic to be held in July took up most of the agenda in arranging for supplies, booths and equipment. It was decided that a couple special meetings would have to be called to complete all plans. Weather being warm the annual spring cleaning of the church will take place on the 15th, Several bazaar articles were handed in. A discussion was had on having Mass here Sundays which met the approval of some as especially in the winter months it would prove very satisfactory. Mrs. Kenney advised the members that she expected to have the bedding plants for the grotto this weekend. Following closing exercises a social evening was enjoyed with the following winning prizes in the contests = Mrs. Testori, Mrs. Hubelit, Mrs. Gerow, Mrs. Todesco, Mrs. Kenney, Mr. O'Hagan, Mrs. Schelling, Mrs. H. Legault. The evening closed with a pot luck supper, during which Mrs. Kenney presented Mrs. O'Hagan with a gold bracelet set with local amythest stones as a parting gift. Mrs. O'Hagan leaves shortly fo reside in Walkerton, Ontario where Mr. O'Hagan has obtained a teaching position. ~ 94 TE THE ANGEL'S HARP 7 Ist and 2nd pic next column - Grade two sponsored a very succ- essful bake sale recently.
